Les Granges is in the heart of the beautiful Limousin countryside, surrounded by luscious green fields, and only a short walk to the village of St Dizier Leyrenne and picturesque lake, with a tennis club, kids adventure play ground and picnic areas. The nearby town of Bourganeuf is only 6 miles away, and has a Medieval Castle founded in the early 12th century by The Legendary Knights Templar. With local rumours connecting to the elusive Holy Grail. There are also a wide and varied choice of shops, cafes, bars and fine restaurants in the vibrant town, together with a market, tourist office, cinema and fascinating museum. Just beyond Bourganeuf is Parc Naturel Millevaches and Lac de Vassivičre; Regional Nature Park, 19,000 acres of land designated as an area of ecological interest. A haven for wildlife, as well as for outdoor pursuits and water sports. Catering for everything from sailing and paragliding to golf. Just 30 minutes north, the evergreen forest of Les Monts de Gueret, is wolf territory, and home to Les Loups de Chabrieres, the renowned sanctuary acclaimed for species protection. Fantastic day out for observing or filming wolves within a safe and natural environment. Also in the vicinity is Le Labyrinthe Geant, which is reputed to be the worlds largest giant size walk through maze. The mountain views in this area are truly spectacular and panoramic.
